Barcode With Logo: what to know

Adding a logo to a barcode is a quick way to brand a label, ticket or package, but a logo in the wrong place stops it scanning. Linear barcodes are read across their full width, so a logo can't sit over the middle of the bars or in the blank margins on either side. 2D codes can hide a small logo inside their error correction.

This tool adds your logo to a UPC-A, EAN-13, EAN-8 or Code 128 barcode: above the bars, beside them, or in the top band of the bars like a design barcode, where Protected scan area keeps at least 60% of the bar height plain. Artistic layout allows larger artwork inside the bars but can stop scanning. The logo is turned into a one-color silhouette or kept in its original colors. Every result is decoded in your browser as you change it, so if the logo covers too much, you'll know straight away.

Your logo file (PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG) is read by your browser and drawn on your device. It isn't uploaded or stored, and it's gone when you close the page. Download the result as SVG, PNG or PDF like any other barcode.

Popular uses

  • Branded product and shelf labels
  • Event tickets and wristbands
  • Packaging artwork with a logo near the barcode
  • Loyalty and membership cards

Tips for the best result

  • Use a simple, high-contrast logo; fine detail disappears at barcode sizes.
  • Keep the barcode itself dark on a light background, whatever colour the logo is.
  • Scan a printed sample with the scanner that will be used in practice.
